Rooted in cultural purpose, I encourage my students to discover music on their own. I prioritize listening and building tools that give my students autonomy in their saxophone playing and in their music.

My teaching is rooted in listening, cultural curiosity, and the belief that technique and theory are tools for musical expression. Drawing from my experience growing up in the Deep South and learning primarily through listening and playing, I encourage students to find the music that motivates them, establish meaningful goals, and develop the knowledge, skills, and curiosity to pursue their own musical voice.

In our lessons, we will learn material using only our ears, go over fundamental technique and harmony, and build tools for improvisation.
